Infisical vs. AppViewX

AppViewX automates certificates through manually configured workflows and connectors you operate. Infisical automates every certificate out of the box.

The AppViewX way

Workflows to design, connectors to run, and modules to buy.

  • Workflow designer
  • AppViewX CLMaaS Overview
  • AppViewX Cloud Connector: Install it in each network, plus a Windows Gateway for Windows targets.
  • Your quote: CLM, PKI, and ADC modules: Each module is priced separately.
  • Automating CLM for F5 Devices
  • Fix the F5 renewal workflow: Waiting on AppViewX support
  • Renew F5 certificates: Failed at step 3
  • Workflow design session: With the AppViewX team
  • bigip.internal: Certificate expired
  • Sam, platform team: Which page is the renewal policy on again? I can never find it.

The Infisical way

Every certificate in one place, renewed and installed automatically.

What's the difference between Infisical and AppViewX?

AppViewX is a capable platform, but it takes workflow design, connectors in your network, and specialists to run. Infisical works out of the box for your entire infrastructure and can be self-hosted.

  2. Deploy/integrate

    Infisical
    • Use managed cloud in EU or US regions
    • Self-host on Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, AWS ECS, or Google GKE

  4. Operate

    Infisical
    • Manage every certificate (on any infrastructure) in one dashboard
    • Renew, revoke, or reissue from the dashboard or API
    AppViewX
    • Find features across a crowded interface
    • Wait on support when a workflow breaks
  5. Automate

    Infisical
    • Renew automatically and sync certificates to 13+ destinations, with no agent on the target
    • Get a Slack, email, PagerDuty, or webhook alert before expiries
    AppViewX
    • Maintain the workflows that drive renewals and installs
  6. Scale

    Infisical
    • Add secrets, privileged access, AI agent security, or KMS on the same platform
    AppViewX
    • Buy each capability as a separate module
    • Bring in another vendor for secrets

Infisical vs. AppViewX at a glance

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Infisical runs its own CAs, issues from public and enterprise CAs, discovers certificates on your network, renews them, and installs them where they're served, out of the box. AppViewX covers the same lifecycle, but through workflows you have to configure and maintain yourself.

Haveli Investments acquired AppViewX in a deal announced in November 2024. Since then, AppViewX has named a new CEO, chief product officer, CTO, and chief revenue officer. AppViewX hasn't published a detailed roadmap for its certificate lifecycle management product.

Yes. The SaaS version reaches your network through an AppViewX Cloud Connector, plus a Windows Gateway for Windows targets. AppViewX can also run on-prem, in a private cloud, or hybrid. Infisical Cloud needs only one gateway to reach a private network.

AppViewX is sold by custom quote, with modules like certificate management, PKI, code signing, and load balancer automation priced separately. The real cost is often in running it: designing and maintaining workflows, a connector in every network, and outside help for the rollout or extra engineering hires. Infisical works out of the box, has a free tier, and offers an MIT-licensed open-source version.

No. AppViewX covers machine identities like certificates, SSH keys, and code signing, but not secrets management. Infisical runs certificates, secrets, privileged access, and KMS on one platform.

How to migrate from AppViewX to Infisical

Most teams keep their certificates flowing while they move to Infisical, one application at a time.

  1. 01

    Connect your CAs

Connect the public and private CAs you issue from today, or create Infisical's own.

  2. 02

    Discover certificates

Run discovery to find every certificate anywhere.

  3. 03

    Move one application

Manage its certificates in Infisical, and sync them to wherever they're served.

  4. 04

    Retire AppViewX

Turn off each workflow and connector as its applications move, then decommission AppViewX.

Our team can help you plan and run the migration.

Start managing certificates, then add secrets, privileged access, KMS, or agent access.

Add products when you need them, on the platform you already run.

Every product shares identities, audit logs, the CLI and API, app connections, and gateways.
