INFISICAL

Terms of Service

Last Updated: Nov 14, 2022

Welcome to Infisical™. Infisical is a simple end-to-end encrypted platform that enables engineering teams to sync and manage their environment settings.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) define your rights and our rights in relation to the use of the services provided by Infisical Inc. (“Infisical”, “we”, “us”, “the Company”) through the website at infisical.com (the “Infisical Website”), through any applications and/or through any Command Line Interfaces (the “Infisical CLI”). The Infisical Website and applications, the Infisical CLI and the services provided by or through the Infisical Website and applications and the Infisical CLI are collectively known in these Terms as the “Services”.

Through accessing or using the Services or any part of them, you, the user (“you”, “user”) agree to be bound by, and access the Services in accordance with, these Terms of Service and all terms, guidelines and policies incorporated by reference in this Document, including but not limited to our standard documentation for the Services currently located here (“Infisical Documentation”) and Infisical’s Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Agreement”). If you do not agree to this Agreement, you may not utilise, access, or submit information to the Services. (collectively, the “Agreement”).

The license details for our open-source self-hosted version of Infisical are avaiable on our GitHub page

  1. The Services

Infisical is modifying and improving its Services on a constant basis. We have the right to introduce new products and/or features, change existing products and/or features, or discontinue products and/or features from the Services at any time. Currently we offer the following products:

  1. Secret manager: Secret manager helps you store and sync your development secrets and configurations (”Secrets”). It is provided in the form of a browser dashboard and can also be used in a local development, CI/CD pipelines, or production environments using Infisical CLI, SDKs, API, and more.

Every user (also known as member) should always be considered as a part of an organization. One can create a organization to manage secrets (also known as keys) for a particular team of people. Every organization can contain projects that serve as the organization layer for develoeprs. Every project can be split into multiple environments (e.g., development, staging, production). Every project is enabled with logging - in other words, the history of events performed on every secret. This implies that every action, like adding a secret, is logged.

In addition, every project supports user access management. By default, Infisical supports 2 levels of user access for the Secret Manager: admin and member. Admins have access to everything in the Infisical organization. Members are individual contributors, and they do not have access to certain settings and the billing dashboard. You can add users to your workplace through the ‘Add Member’ button in the team dashboard. Note that Infisical may continue to change or add access control options.

  2. Creating an Account

2.1 If you sign up for an account on the Services of Infisical, you agree to (a) provide accurate, current and complete information as may be prompted by account setup forms on the Services (further referred to as “Registration Data”); (b) maintain the security of your password and account information; (c) maintain and promptly update the Registration Data, and any other information you provide to Infisical, and keep it accurate, current and complete. You are responsible for all activity on your Infisical account, and for all charges related to your Infisical account. Note that the Services are not intended for, and should not be used by, anyone under the age of 16.

2.2 You can login to your Infisical account using your Infisical credentials.

2.3 Unauthorized Account Use. You agree to notify us immediately at [email protected] if you become aware of any unauthorized use of or access to your account. You understand and agree that we may require you to provide information that may be used to confirm your identity and help ensure the security of your account.

  1. Security and Data Privacy

3.1 Infisical Security. Infisical aims to keep your data secure by using end-to-end encrypted communication channels, encrypting data at rest, and by ensuring our infrastructure doesn’t have direct access to your Secrets. It is also impossible for anyone at Infisical to access sensitive customer data such as environment variables, Infisical API keys, and user passwords as the data is end-to-end encrypted. Infisical regularly assesses its policies and practices to improve its security readiness.

To learn more about how data flows through our systems, where/how it is encrypted, and how your data is secured at rest with our security partner visit the Infisical security page. Infisical implements robust physical, technical and administrative security measures designed to protect your information from unauthorised or accidental access, destruction, use, modification or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, and no means of electronic or physical storage, is entirely free of risk, and thus we cannot ensure or warrant the absolute security of your information.

We collect and use all such data and information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which you acknowledge. We are always striving to improve the Services. In order to do so, we use analytics techniques to better understand how our Services are being used. For more information on these techniques and the type of data collected, please read our Privacy Policy.

Infisical strives to balance your privacy rights with other legal requirements.

If Infisical believes in good faith that it is legally prohibited from providing you or your Authorized Users with the Services, it is at Infisical’s sole discretion to freeze your account and/or cancel your subscription.

15.2 Any failure of either Party to insist upon or enforce performance by the other Party of any of the provisions of this Agreement or to exercise any rights or remedies under this Agreement will not be interpreted or construed as a waiver or relinquishment of such Party's right to assert or rely upon such provision, right or remedy in that or any other instance. If a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision of these Terms to be invalid, the parties agree that the court should endeavor to give effect, to the maximum extent permitted by law, to the parties’ intentions as reflected in the provision, and the other provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.
