25,000 GitHub Stars and Just Getting Started

Infisical just crossed 25,000 stars on GitHub, and we are pretty fired up about it.

To everyone who has opened an issue, submitted a PR, deployed us in production, or told a teammate to check us out: seriously, thank you. This milestone is not about a number on a page. It is a signal that engineers building real systems trust what we are doing.

What 25,000 Stars Actually Represents

25,000 stars puts Infisical among a very small group of infrastructure security projects on GitHub. We went from zero to here in about three years, and the growth has only accelerated. That kind of sustained, organic growth does not come from marketing. It comes from engineers telling other engineers that something works.

Engineers do not star tools they tried once and forgot about. They star tools they evaluated against alternatives, deployed into their stack, and found worth keeping.

Every star on Infisical represents a decision made by a platform engineer, a DevOps lead, or an SRE who looked at the landscape of secrets management and identity security and chose to bet on us.

This is not a community of casual users. It is a community of operators running real workloads.

25 Stars for 25,000 Stars

To celebrate this milestone, we adopted 25 real stars through the Adopt a Star program, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports cutting-edge astronomy research at the Kepler/TESS Asteroseismic Science Consortium. Each star was gifted to a randomly selected Infisical stargazer on GitHub.

It felt like the right way to say thank you. You gave us 25,000 stars. We figured we could give a few back.

Where We Are and Where We Are Going

Since launching in 2023, Infisical has moved from a focused secrets management tool to a full identity security platform. Our customers rely on Infisical to manage secrets, certificates, and access controls across their engineering organizations.

Today, it is a full identity security platform running in production across financial services, healthcare, automotive, and technology companies.

The platform covers:

All of it runs on a single platform. One dashboard, one set of policies, one audit trail. Built on Postgres. No exotic dependencies.

We are not slowing down. Here is what we are focused on next:

  • Deeper platform integrations. Tighter connections across secrets, certificates, privileged access, and identity controls so security teams get a unified view of their posture across the stack.
  • Expanding Certificate Management and Privileged Access Management product lines to provide advanced discovery methods and more process automations.
  • A fully production-hardened release with FIPS compliance, scalable audit logging, and a simplified single-binary deployment for on-prem customers.
  • AI agent security. The way AI agents interact with infrastructure is changing fast. We are committed to staying at the front of that curve, adapting our platform as new patterns emerge around agent orchestration, tool access, and identity governance.

The long-term vision is straightforward: keep building a platform that is robust enough for the most demanding infrastructure teams and simple enough that developers actually want to use it.

That is what got us to 25,000 stars, and it is what will keep us going.

Built by the Community

Open source is not a distribution strategy for us. It is how we build.

Our contributors have filed thousands of issues, submitted hundreds of pull requests, and shaped the product roadmap with direct feedback from their production environments. When we build a new feature, the first people to test it are engineers running Infisical in real infrastructure. That feedback loop is what makes the product better than anything built in isolation.

We build on top of technology that engineers already know and trust. Postgres. No exotic dependencies. No vendor lock-in. If you want to run Infisical in your own environment, you can read every line of code before you deploy it.

The engineers who use Infisical every day have a direct line to the team building it.
