# Agent Vault projects

> Keep each agentic system's credentials, members, and proxies in its own Agent Vault project.

An Agent Vault project holds everything that one agentic system or team uses: its [access bundles](https://infisical.com/docs/documentation/platform/agent-vault/access-bundles.md), [services](https://infisical.com/docs/documentation/platform/agent-vault/services), [variables](https://infisical.com/docs/documentation/platform/agent-vault/variables.md), [skills](https://infisical.com/docs/documentation/platform/agent-vault/skills.md), [sessions](https://infisical.com/docs/documentation/platform/agent-vault/sessions), and [proxies](https://infisical.com/docs/documentation/platform/agent-vault/proxies.md). Each project has its own admins and members, so the people who run one system can't see or change the credentials of another.

To open a project, select **Agent Vault** on your organization's overview, then select the project.

## When to create another project

Create a project for each agentic system or team that should manage its own credentials. For example, if one team runs a support bot and another team runs coding agents, give each team a project, so each team's admins manage only their own access bundles and variables.

Keep agents in the same project if the same people manage them and the agents share credentials, such as a set of agents that all call the same GitHub organization.

## What stays inside a project

Nothing in this list is shared between projects:

* Members and their roles (see [Access control](https://infisical.com/docs/documentation/platform/agent-vault/access-control.md))
* Access bundles, services, and global variables
* Personal variables and personal values, which each member sets up separately in each project
* Skills
* Sessions and proxies (a session only works through a proxy in the same project)
* Session log settings, including where the logs are stored
* Audit logs

If two projects need the same credential, add it to each project.

## Create a project

Organization admins and members can create projects by default.

**Step 1**

On your organization's overview, select **Agent Vault**.

**Step 2**

Select **New Project**, enter a **Project Name**, then select **Create Project**.

You become the project's admin. To give other people access, [add them to the project](https://infisical.com/docs/documentation/platform/agent-vault/access-control.md#adding-members).

## Your first project

If you pick Agent Vault when you sign up, Infisical creates a project named **My first project** for you. If your organization used Agent Vault before it had projects, everything you'd set up is in a project with the same name. Otherwise, your organization has no Agent Vault project until someone [creates one](#create-a-project).

You can rename any project, including **My first project**, in the project's **Administration** > **Settings** > **General**.

## Join a project as an organization admin

Organization admins aren't automatically members of every Agent Vault project. To join a project you aren't a member of:

**Step 1**

On your organization's overview, select **Agent Vault**, then select the **All Projects** tab.

**Step 2**

On the project's row, select **Join as Admin**.

Infisical adds you to the project with the **Admin** role, records the change in the [audit log](https://infisical.com/docs/documentation/platform/audit-logs.md), and emails the project's admins.

## Find the project ID

The [API](https://infisical.com/docs/api-reference/overview/introduction.md) and the [Infisical CLI](https://infisical.com/docs/cli/overview.md) need the ID of the Agent Vault project to work in. To find it, open the project, go to **Administration** > **Settings**, and copy the **Project ID**. The ID is also in the project's address in your browser, after `/projects/agent-vault/`.

## Delete a project

An admin of the project can delete it in the project's **Administration** > **Settings** > **General**. You can't undo deleting a project. When you delete a project:

* Agents that use the project's sessions stop getting credentials, and the project's proxies stop working
* You can no longer view the project's session logs
